Purpose of the site

SafarSalah provides a calculator and educational articles about the rulings on shortening prayer while travelling. The results are guidance based on published scholarly positions and the information you enter. They are not religious rulings (fatwas) and do not replace the advice of a qualified scholar.

Accuracy

Distances depend on third-party map data, which may be incomplete or out of date, and on administrative boundaries that do not always match a town's built-up area. Classical distances are converted to kilometres differently by different scholars. We make every effort to be accurate but cannot guarantee that any result is correct for your situation.

Acceptable use

Do not use automated tools to send large numbers of requests through the calculator, as this burdens the free map services it relies on.
